Midlands Innovation brings together the expertise of 5200 researchers within energy, health, transport and water, collaborating with industry to deliver real-world solutions to tackle climate change.
Responding to the climate crisis and achieving the Net Zero ambition by 2050 requires collaboration between university academics from all disciplines, input from industry, influence from Government and regional stakeholders.
Midlands Innovation's Energy Research Accelerator has already designed and developed greener practices with industry that can be rolled out across the UK’s cities and region and the Midlands Green Growth plan aims to deliver a 36% reduction in CO2 emissions regionally.
But this is just the beginning. Research expertise and innovation needs to align with policy at a national and global scale to really fight the climate crisis.
