Midlands Innovation is collaborating with other universities in the region and the pan-regional growth body, the Midlands Engine, on a trail-blazing pilot to explore how universities can drive foreign direct investment into regional research and development. Read more about the pilot here
Findings from the pilot will be shared with the higher education sector and policymakers to help inform future UK policy development to support the UK to increase overseas investment into research and development (R&D).
A national report, published on 7th March 2023, by the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI) provides national analysis of The Role of Universities in Driving Overseas Investment into UK Research and Development.
To support the publication of the report, Midlands Innovation partners worked with HEPI to produce an exclusive blog series to cover key aspects of how universities can drive FDI into UK R&D.
