Higher Education Technicians Summit 2021

Summary

The UK’s conference for technicians in higher education and research takes place on 10 November 2021.

Description

HETS 2021 will take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre at the University of Nottingham and is sponsored by Midlands Innovation, in partnership with the Science Council.

Fran Scott, the well-known engineering presenter and pyrotechnician will be a keynote speaker at the event which is open to technicians of all levels and disciplines across UK and Ireland.  

Professor Dame Ottoline Leyser Chief Executive of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) will be sharing a dedicated message to delegates and Professor Andy Long Provost Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham will be a speaker at the event.   

Dr Helen Pain Chief Executive Royal Society of Chemistry Chair of the Technician Commitment Steering Board will also be speaking along with Professor Andy Long, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost at the University of Nottingham.

The acclaimed Papin Prizes will also be presented to technicians across ten categories, including teaching, research, infrastructure, outreach and a special category for this year, recognising technician’s significant role in response to COVID-19
