About Midlands Innovation
Midlands Innovation is a collaboration between the eight research intensive universities in the Midlands. Our ambition is to drive cutting-edge research, innovation and skills development that will grow the high-tech, high-skilled economy of the Midlands and the UK.
Our aim is to build global hubs of research and innovation excellence, addressing topics where we can add value; from energy and transportation, to medical science and the arts and humanities
We will achieve our ambition by exploiting our unique strengths and building on the rich history of collaboration of eight leading Universities across the Midlands: Aston, Birmingham, Cranfield, Keele, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Warwick. We are founded on the belief that:
Individually we are strong, with world-class research, creativity and skills development. Together we are stronger, playing a significant role in stimulating economic growth across the region and beyond.
Universities in the Midlands region have a rich history of close and strategic collaboration. Midlands Innovation came into its current form in 2015, but builds on a history of strong regional partnerships focused on equipment sharing and on different subject-based strategic partnerships.
