Midlands to benefit from £4.5m investment

The Midlands region is set to benefit from strategic investment by the Economic and Social Sciences Research Council (ESRC) of £4.5 million to support collaborative projects between academics at the Universities of Birmingham, Leicester, Nottingham and Warwick and their regional partners, including businesses, government bodies, charities, and social enterprises. This funding has been awarded via the ESRC’s Impact Acceleration Account scheme to enable universities to work closely with their partners, and develop new partnerships, to ensure that social sciences research continues to make a real difference  to the everyday lives of people.

The launch event of the new four-year programme is taking place on 24th June and will be attended by  Professor Paul Nightingale, Director of Strategy at the ESRC, who will give a key note speech on the future of social science knowledge engagement. This will be an excellent opportunity to engage with key universities in the region, including Loughborough and Aston Universities, and find out how to benefit from this strategic investment.
